
Inbal Eshed
Director of International Relations
Inbal Eshed is the Director of International Relations at the Civil Commission, where she leads the organization's global engagement strategies. In this role, she is responsible for identifying international opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships to enhance the Commission's global presence and collaborating with various stakeholders to promote the Commission's objectives.
Prior to joining the Civil Commission, Inbal served in Israel’s diplomatic corps for a decade. She began as a senior political advisor at the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations in New York, focusing on security, political, and disarmament issues, and managing General Assembly affairs along with the work of the First and Fourth Committees. She then joined the United Nations’ Holocaust and the UN Outreach Programme as a Public Information Officer, liaising with foreign missions, UN officials, academic institutions, and civil society organizations to advance the UN's human rights agenda.
Upon returning to Israel, Inbal continued her diplomatic career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving in various departments, including the UN and International Organizations Department and the Public Diplomacy Department. In recent years, she has held several leadership roles in the non-profit sector, leading an international team from Israel, Jordan, and the West Bank on a conflict mitigation project, and directing a non-profit organization focused on advancing regional economic development.
Inbal holds a master’s degree in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Political Science from Hunter College, City University of New York. An avid historian, her research has centered on the history of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and the achievements of Raphael Lemkin as an agent of change.
