Sharon Rapaport

Trauma Testimony Specialist

Sharon Rapaport serves as a Documentarist specializing in Oral History, and Researcher,
with three decades of experience in trauma documentation. Her work sits at the
intersection of social history, testimony production, and therapy, with particular expertise
in the co-production of trauma-based testimony. She holds an MA in Oral History and
completed comprehensive psychotherapy training at the Tavistock and Portman NHS
Foundation Trust in London, specializing in the integration of documentary work with
narrative therapy.
Her innovative methodology integrates therapeutic tools with oral history and
documentary practices, providing emotional and professional guidance throughout the
documentation process.
Prior to joining the Commission for Documentation of Hamas War Crimes, Ms. Rapaport
has established significant partnerships with leading academic and research institutions
worldwide, including: The British Library, The Leo Baeck Institute, The Department of
The Spielberg Holocaust Testimony Project and Yad Vashem's Documentation Initiative,
documenting Holocaust survivors
Documentation of October 7th survivors' testimonies
The Asylum Seekers Oral History Project, filming testimonies of African refugees
seeking who are asylum in Israel
Sephardi Voices, preserving the histories and experiences of Jewish refugees from Arab-
speaking countries
and A Foreigner Within" Oral History Initiative, documenting the life experiences of
single Arab Israeli women, exploring their personal narratives within their social and
cultural context
